Super Sharps scroll saw blades
I am part of a Scrollsaw Club that meets at Woodcraft. We recently reviewed the Super Sharps with a survey. Below is the results of the survey. SURVEY RESULTS (10 went out, 7 returned) …the answers to 6 questions: 1.What brand of blades do you use now? 5 Pegas – 2 Pegas/Olsen – 0 just Olsen – 1 FlyingDuthchman 2.Do you notice “Super Sharps” to be SHARPER? 1. 5 yes – 2 no 3.Do you notice “Super Sharps” to have less DRIFT? 2. 4 yes – 2 no – 1 n/a 4.Overall, do you like the SS’s that you tried in this envelope? 3. 7 yes 5.Would you buy them if we had them in the store? 4. 6 yes – 1 no 6.what TWO brands would you like WC to carry? 5. 6 Pegas/SS – 1 SS/FlyingDutch A summary of the COMMENTS would be the “Super Sharps” were well liked, they were noticeably sharper however some noticed they dulled quicker. All would like to buy them at Woodcraft. Biggest fault and most important take-way is that “Super Sharps” don’t have sub-categories such as SKIP tooth or REVERSE tooth. Not having this choice would mean it would not be an adequate replacement for current choices in store.

Product is great, but the customer service was simply AMAZING.... It was so great to have a great experience...

Excellent
These blades have reduced the cutting time and number of blades used on my projects significantly. I use my scroll saw 5-7 hours per day.

#5 ps sharps
Thought I would try these blades as I was having a good bit of trouble with drifting from the pattern lines. These work great, stay sharp for a good amount of cutting. I am cutting a pattern that calls for 7 layers of 1/8" baltic birch. I wanted to make 4 finished pieces so I stacked 4 - 1/8" x 8"x8 " pieces of birch together for each of the 7 layers. I used 4 blades to cut all 7 stacks . Fine blades!

I have tried many different blades
I have only been scrolling for about 1 year but in that time I have tried many different blades. The person who demonstrates scrolling where I go to watch always recommends a particular brand. I originally bought the PS Wood brand because of the convenience of the tubes for storage. The other day when I ran out of PS Wood #5 in the middle of a project, I went to the so called "highly recommended" blades. I was shocked at the difference in the way the blades sawed through my wood. I confess that I had previously thought blades were all about the same. I was wrong. The PS Wood blades are way superior. They are pricey but tend to last longer and lately when the blade dulls enough that I no longer want to push as hard as has become necessary, I put the used blade nearby so that when I change projects and start to make less critical cuts, e.g., to cut the wood into smaller pieces before beginning the main project, I use the old blade. I highly recommend these blades.
