ROUGHING (GREEN & DRY WOOD)

Our 3/8” x 3 tpi x .032 blades are made of Swedish Silicon Steel and are slightly thicker than our .025 blades.  The 3/8” x 3 tpi x .032 blades are generally used for cutting green or exotic woods from 6”-12” in height as the kerf is opened up a little wider to remove the sawdust and keep the blade from being pinched.  They can make a 1-1/4” radius cut and are a favorite of our woodturners for cutting smaller radius bowl blanks, vases, etc. or straight cutting green or exotic woods of that height.  These blades are not made for use on blade lengths of less than 90”.

    bandsaw blade

Posted by Dave on Jan 28th 2024

I've been using this type of blade for several years and it works perfectly for cutting large blanks for woodturning with green wood. PS wood machines has been excellent to work with. They keep records of what I've purchased in the past and with that information prevented me from accidentally ordering the wrong size blade.

105.5 inch blade for green wood

Posted by Gary Briggs on Apr 29th 2023

Your customer service was GREAT as I had never ordered from PS before. I needed a 105.5" blade for my Jet 14 inch saw with the 6" riser block. The order came quickly, installed easily and it cuts just great. Many thanks

    Bandsaw blades

I have been using these type of blades to allow me to cut out hundreds of bowls. Green wood is tough to cut and these blades to what I want.

It was bent. I was able to straighten enough to use, but not true as others have been.

    Excellent Milling Blade

Posted by Dale Wolf on Jun 14th 2021

I salvage local hardwoods which requires milling and drying. This blade on my small bandsaw does an excellent job turning raw logs into turning blanks and rough lumber. I've used a variety of Timber Wolf blades, but the 3/8" X 3AS blade is at the top of my list!

Doesn't stay sharp as long as I had hoped

Posted by Robert on Jun 11th 2020

Just ordered my 3rd 3/8 3tpi AS blade I use them to rough turn green wood bowl blanks. It does not bind as long as it is sharp but it doesn't stay sharp as long as I had hoped

    I love these blades

Posted by Pat Pfeifer on Apr 28th 2020

I have been using psWood blades for probably over a decade, after I saw them demoed at a wood working show in Denver. I use them for making turning blanks, but also for resawing smaller logs into lumber. You know it's a blade that doesn't wander, when you end up with a thin slice that is consistent in thickness!

    Great quality

Posted by Ed Bowman on Apr 10th 2020

The first thing I noticed was the quality of the weld. The blade is very sharp and had no problem cutting a 9 inch thick, green wood, bowl blank.
