 Product Description

ROUGHING & MILLING

NEW! Our ½” x 2 tpi x .032 blades are made of Swedish Silicon Steel and are slightly thicker than our .025 blades. The teeth are induction hardened and milled for true tracking.  These blades run under a little lower tension which is better for your band saw.  Our welds are warranted.  The ½” x 2 tpi x .032 blade is generally used for cutting green and exotic woods from 6”-15” in height as the kerf is opened up a little wider to remove the sawdust and keep the blade from being pinched. An excellent resaw blade in those woods, it can also make a 2-1/2” radius (5” diameter) cut making them a favorite blade of our woodturners for roughing out larger bowl blanks.  These blades are not made for use on blade lengths of less than 90”.

  1. Excellant

This is only my third Timber Wolf blade. The first was a 3/4 3 tpi which being a novice, I abused the hell out of using it in wet wood. I've resharpened that one twice (with a tapered diamond file that fits the gullet) now with very good results. I've heard of bandsaw blades breaking if not handled properly during the cut....this one took a beating and kept on ticking. As to the 1/2 3-tpi AS, I'm taking a face cut off some 6 x 12 reclaimed timbers and it has been spot on. I did adjust the wheel so the BACK of the blade centers in the cut....so there is no drift and I was much more careful to keep the feed speed reasonable. I have tried a couple blades from different companies....and think I will stick with Timber Wolf after this, they seem like very high quality, given my limited experience.

  2. Must Have Blade

If you are going to process some green wood into spindle & bowl blanks this is the blade for you. My saw goes to 8" thick and the blade does an excellent job.
Also, PS Wood stands by their weld breakage warranty. I broke a blade recently and they replaced the blade.
